Write Letters

Everyone - we need your help!

Write support letters to the Board of Ed, County Council, and State and local policitians

• Email is good, but then also send it by fax or snail mail - you don't want your great words to get "lost" in cyberspace.
• Encourage all area adults and kids to write - this affects us ALL, not just MES families.
• Personal stories are great, but remember to
  1. challenge the proposed time line - way too short to consider a boundary change, which is what this is for PES, 60 days is unreasonable;
  2. enrollment - MES is NOT under-enrolled! It is at 85% utilization of it's capacity, well within the desired level. While is it is small, small is not the same thing. If the boundaries are re-visited, or open enrollment offered it would alleviate over-crowding in neighboring Clarksburg and Germantown; and
  3. alleged cost savings - Weast has a $1.49 billion plan, some for new schools so the so-called $1 million saved by closing MES is like saving a dime on a $149 grocery bill
